Corporate social responsibility

PalmElit embarked upon a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative right from its creation in 2009 and joined RSPO, whose Principles and Criteria it promotes among its partners and clients.

By distributing high-yielding planting material, we help to:

  • Increase the productivity of planted areas,
  • Limit pressure on forest zones,
  • Make investments profitable and sustainable, through the dissemination of disease-resistant planting material,
  • Ensure regular and constant incomes for growers, be they small-scale or large-scale operators.

However, our ambition goes much further for the implementation of our activities and even for the use made of our seeds.

Our aim is to work in favour of sustainable oil palm development and to pay particular attention to social and environmental aspects.

As such:

  • We have been an associate member of RSPO since October 2009,
  • A CSR roadmap has been drawn up,
  • A Code of Conduct has been established.

PalmElit’s Code of Conduct for Corporate Social Responsibility, which was ratified by the PalmElit Board on 8 March 2011, has now come into force.

You can consult it via the “Code of Conduct” menu.

It has strong implications for PalmElit, but also for our partners and clients. We wish for the same positive attitude in terms of CSR to prevail throughout our network of commercial and research operations, particularly respecting the RSPO Principles and Criteria. We are convinced that this initiative is essential for and beneficial to the palm oil supply chain as a whole.

Each year we report to RSPO on our actions to promote RSPO and sustainable oil palm growing practices (Annual Communication of Progress – ACOP).
